Yuri Chertok was born in 1957 in Nukus - the capital of Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic, He has graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Karaganda and has become an engineer-geophysicist (1979) and moved to Bashkortostan (Ishimbay). Chertok had already become a national master on international draughts (1978) and was the champion of Kazakhstan by this time. He decided to start a coaching career in Ishimbay and formed draughts hobby group at the Palace of Pioneers (1982) which has grown now into the best Professional Draughts club. There are more than twenty masters of sport among his trainees, the world junior champions: E.Demochkina (Milshina), T.Tansykkuzhina, O.Abdullina. E.Milshina, G.Georgieva and T.Tansykkuzhina are multiple champions of Russia, T.Tansykkuzhina – the quadruple world champion and two-time champion of Europe. A.Georgiev being trained by Chertok won the World championships three times. Teams of the club won at the European club championships ten times.
Yuri Chertok is an international master (1998), champion of Russia (1989), silver medalist of the World Intellectual Olympics in London (1999), The champion of USA (2009), Honored coach of Russia (1998), Honored Worker of Physical Culture of Bashkortostan (1994), chairman and chief coach of the club “Bashneft”, he was awarded the Order of Salavat Yulayev (2001), he is the head coach of the national republic and Russian teams, Yuri Chertok is the executive director of the Inter-Regional Federation of International draughts and Russia's representative to the European Confederation of draughts.

Alexander Melnikov, master of sport of Russia since 2000. He has brought up champions and prize-winners of the republican, all-Russia and international competitions: Masters of sport of Russia Olesya Abdullina, Aynur Shaybakov, and Valeeva Julia. Candidates for the master of sport Sagitova Azalea, Urmanov Alexander, Ryzhov Ilja are members of the junior national team of Russia. Gulnaz Khismatullina (year of birth 1997), Almaz Khabibullin (born in1997), Aliya Aminova (born in 1992), Aigul Idrisova (born in 1995), Gulnaz Abubakirova (born in 1996) are multiple prize winners and winners at the championships of Russia and Europe as well.

Michael Pekersky was born in Gorky in 1962. He moved to Ufa in 1972. He started playing draughts independently without a coach. In 1979 he has got acquainted with V. D. Chernishov and his Chess-Draughts Club. V. D. Chernishov has given him a few lessons on Russian draughts and after that Pekersky has began to take part in the republican championships and tournaments of Ufa regularly. Being a fourth-year student of the State Aviation Institute, Pekersky has become the champion of Ufa for the first time and has completed the candidate’s norm for the master of sport.
Since those times he has started coaching children. Pekersky has worked at school ¹ 42 in the beginning, later at school ¹ 25 and also at teenage clubs "Mechta" and "Orbita". Now he trains children in the professional Draughts club “Bashneft” which has been organized by Yury Chertok. The draughts popularity has especially increased over the last 3 years when many children have started to attend the draughts classes. His first trainee – Marsel Sharafutdinov has become a candidate for the master of sport at the age of 8 in 2009. It took him only two years to achieve this level. Now Pekersky is the current champion of Ufa on Russian and international draughts among men. Nowadays Pekersky trains 6 candidates for the master of sport at the age of 9 to 13, 7 first-class players and many other kids. The youngest one is only 5 years old, but he has already managed to have become a third-class player.

Tamara Tansykkuzhina was born on December, 11th , 1978 in Naberezhnye Chelny. She went to the Chess and Checkers club of Naberezhnye Chelny (was coached by Ovechkin S. and M. Belkin). Now she is being trained by Y. Chertok and by A. Chizhov (since 2007). She was invited to move to Ishimbay by Chertok (1994), since 2002, she lives in Ufa. She plays for the Armed Forces Sport Club of the Russian Federation (since 1996), Professional Draughts Club “Bashneft” (since 1999), School of High Sports Mastery of the republic of Bashkortostan (since 1998). Russia's the only world champion on international draughts (2001, 2003, 2004, 2007). Bronze medalist at the first World Mind Games in Beijing (2008). Europe Champion (2000, 2008 years), the bronze medalist at the Europe championship (2006). The Winner (2004) at the Europe Club Championship in the team "Bashneft" (Ufa). Champion of Russia (1996, 1999, 2000, 2002 - along with Guzel Georgieva, 2005, 2007, 2008), silver medalist at the Russia championship on international draughts (2001, 2003, 2006). World Champion (2008), silver medalist at the World championship (Rapid game 1999). World Junior Champion (1997), Youth champion of Russia (2000) on international draughts, Russian draughts World Champion among girls (1997). International Grandmaster (2001), Grandmaster of Russia (1998). Tansykkuzhina has graduated from Sterlitamak State Pedagogical Institute (2001). She was awarded the Republican Order of Salavat Yulayev (2001), honorary badge "Outstanding sportsman of the Republic of Bashkortostan" (2001), a diploma of Russian Olympic Committee and the "Fair Play" Committee for the nobility in sport (2006). Olesya Abdullina was born in 1989 in Ishimbay. She started playing draughts at the local youth sport school. A. Melnikov was the first coach to train her. Since 2004 she lives in Ufa, since 2007 she has been trained by Yury Chertok. Olesya is a multiple winner at the European championships, junior world champion (2007), rapid draughts world champion among youth under 23 years (2008), Bronze medalist at the championship of Russia (2006). Murodullo Amrillaev was born in 1972 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), he moved to Russia in 1995. Murodullo is an International Grandmaster (1994), Russian Grandmaster (1998), World Champion in the team event (2007, Dakar), Russian draughts world champion (with classical time controls - in 1993, quick program - 1995, 2005, 2006), bronze medalist at the World Championship on Russian draughts (1998 and 2005). European Blitz Champion in the Russian team (2006). Silver (2006) and bronze medalist at the Championship of Russia on International draughts (1997, 1998 and 2008), Rapid draughts champion of Russia (2000, 2008). Guzel Georgieva (Ishmuratova) was born on July, 14th, 1976 in Salavat. She started to play draughts at the Youth Draughts Sport School and has been trained by Y. Chertok. Since 1996 she is trained by A.Georgiev. Since 1999 Georgieva plays for the professional draughts clubs "Neftyanik" and "Bashneft" (Ishimbay), "Bashneft" (Ufa). She is The winner at the European Cup Draughts Confederation (2002), The champion of Russia (2001, 2002, 2004), the silver prize-winner at the championship of Russia (1998, 2001), A member of the national team of Russia (since 1998), grandmaster of Russia (1999) on international draughts. Guzel was awarded the title «Outstanding sportsman of the Republic of Bashkortostan» (2003). She is married to A. Georgiev, brings up two children. |

Ajnur Shajbakov was born on August, 27th, 1992 in Ishimbay. He started to play draughts at the age of 7 at the Youth Draughts Sport School. He lives in Ufa (Since 2004) and receives A. Melnikov’s coaching. He has completed the candidate’s norm for the master of sport (2001) and has become a master of sport (2004). In 2003 and 2004 Shajbakov has become the winner at the Europe championships in his age groups. In 2005 he has won at the World Cadets Championship (under 17 years). In 2006 he, as a part of the national team of Bashkortostan, has become the winner at the Russia Team Championship. In 2008 he has become silver prize-winner at the European Club championship in the team "Bashneft" (Ufa), bronze prize-winner at the World Rapid Draughts championship (youth under 23 years), bronze prize-winner at the World Cadets Championship. |
